Thingamajigs contains Categories of objects.
Blocks and Items fall under these categories (and in 1.6.7, they affect how you craft things)
There are several main categories and subcategories to be made aware of.
The following information is only accurate for Thingamajigs 1.6.7+ (in older versions, you would use a thingamajig in the stonecutter to craft nearly all decorations in the mod, other recipes use the crafting table with various vanilla ingredients, download JEI to get specifc recipes):
To get into the categories at all, you will need to craft an item, the Base Component.
The base component is crafted with red, yellow and blue dye with a thingamajig and paper combined in a crafting table.
The base component can be combined with other ingredients (in a smithing table) to create other components.
Smithing Table Recipes:
Factory Component:
Furniture Component:
Infrastructure Component:
Miscellaneous Component:
Sports Component:
Technology Component:
Categories:
Generic (the base components go here)
Infrastructure (building blocks of cities and towns)
Factory (factory blocks, equipment, and machines)
Sports (outdoors, indoors, games)
Furniture (couches, chairs, furnishings)
Technology (computers, phones, media playback machines)
Techno (dancing blocks and RGB galore)
Bookshelves (customized bookshelves)
Mini-City (for building a model scale of a city)
Miscellaneous (ediable blocks, joke blocks)
Subcategories contain secondary tiers of craftable components. Take the first tier crafted from the base component, and put it in a stonecutter. You'll have a list of secondary components to choose from, where-in those can be used in a stonecutter to craft many types of decorations that fit that secondary category, the subcategory.
Subcategories:
Car Wash
Computers
Game Consoles
Chairs
Couches
Tables
Poles
Traffic Signals
These features exist int Thingamajigs 1.6.7+. They have solved nearly all the recipe issues before the update. Note that in the future, more categories and some existing/new subcategories may appear for items and blocks (and might be used by addons).
