If you've ever used boats, you'll know how they work. Get inside, somehow move them, and they go where you want to go. Minecarts follow a track, they also go where you tell them to go. The elytra allows you to go where you glide to. Horses, camels, mules, all of them are living creatures that can allow you to travel easier. But all of these things come at a cost: durability, health, or fire = instant destruction.
What if you didn't have to worry so much about durability, or health, or fire and lava?
Introducing, the Purifying Vehicle! A multipurpose flying machine that can shoot fireballs, mine downwards 9x9, 1 layer at a time, and is immune to most damage types.
To craft it, you'll need to place blocks in the world at certain positions around a central core.
The core is the Purifying Vehicle Core. It contains everything your vehicle needs to function, but it needs a little effort put into it from you. The core is crafted in the Combiner.
If you don't have all the parts, no worries. Just remember, every position is based off of the center core block, and the pattern can be checked.
A blueprint is an item that contains data for the name of the construct to be built. Not having all materials and right clicking the core will show particles of where blocks need to go for the currently stored construct assembly instructions. The instructions are put into the blueprint from a Converter process. For the purifying vehicle, place the core under the Converter block, then right click a blueprint on it. Your blueprint will be popped out the top of the converter with the blueprint type updated as a new component. To erase the component, shift right click the blueprint in your offhand (the opposite of your mainhand). There is no current way to datagen new blueprint constructs, however the component used in the item is called:
Blueprints can only store one blueprint type at a time.
To assemble a construct (assuming all positions have their correct block in place), just right click the blueprint item onto the core block, and all blocks will be consumed.
In the case of the Purifying Vehicle Assembly, a brand new Purifying Vehicle will appear where the construct once was, after all blocks are removed. This is what you should see when your done:
It's dual-purpose propeller will spin round and round forever, keeping the aircraft afloat and stable. It has twin shooters for maximum fire charge shooting ability. The vehicle comes with 200 health by default. When it's health reaches 0, the vehicle will break apart. Make sure to grab it's item form so you can place it down in the world again.
To restock the ammo, right a fire charge on it while you are onboard the vehicle. Ammo is required to shoot fire charges out of the vehicle. To shoot the fire charges, press the 'Fire Weapon Key' (Its ' by default). To aim the weapon (and the entire vehicle), just look in the direction you want to face, as the vehicle will always face the way you do (while your onboard it).
Press the inventory key (while onboard) to open it's inventory of 54 slots. That's a portable double chest in a small space! Shift-right click while off the vehicle to open the inventory outside of the aircraft.
The vehicle will drop contents on destruction or if you left click while in the vehicle (which deletes the entity and drops it in item form). Place the Purifying Vehicle item on a block to respawn your vehicle. No contents saved to the item will be in the vehicle (sadly doesn't work), hence why they are dropped when the vehicle is destroyed/removed.
To use the drill function, press the 'Drill Key' (Its ':' by default). You must be over a pickaxe or shovel mineable block, no more than half a block high above the target block.
Note: To use either the fire weapon or drill abilities, you must install upgrades into them. Don't destroy the vehicle, as all upgrades will be lost if you do so! You can reinstall them however once the vehicle is placed again from it's item form. Creative mode players don't need upgrades nor ammo to use the abilities.
When firing or drilling, the vehicles' textures will change to give visual feedback that your input was received. Other players should be able to see this as well.
