Asphalt

The dark rocky road that you need shoes or rubber feet to walk on...

This super slick material is quite useful. It gives you a basic speed boost. However, the older it is, the less speed boost you'll have, until it'll have no boost at all.

Four stages can be placed: Normal, Ok, Mediocre, and Old. Old has no speed boost, and Normal has full speed boost. There are also slab variants of asphalt.

Painted Asphalt exists too. To obtain this kind of asphalt, paint a piece of asphalt in-world with specific paintbrush patterns from a paintbrush. You'll be able to place blocks (or more paint) on top of the asphalt if it is a painted asphalt type block. Use the scrape tool to remove the paint and turn the asphalt into a normal unpainted asphalt block again. You can harvest the painted asphalt block and keep it's pattern, but remember to use a stone pickaxe or better to break it.
