Paint and Paintbrushes
Artistry, mastery, beauty... and messy.
Paint can be applied to almost all blocks of full size. Asphalt slabs can be painted on as well as normal asphalt blocks.
Paint can be placed in the 4 cardinal directions.
Use a paintbrush (when crafted with a dye) to paint with. There are 3 variants: white yellow and blue.
Each color paintbrush has patterns that can be selected. Their names are displayed in the inventory when selected.
Hold a paintbrush in the player's hand. Shift-right click to 'activate' the brush. Shift-right click again to change the type to the next in a list of pattern choices. It will loop around once the last pattern is reached. Pattern types selected are saved to world in a component on the paintbrush items' themselves (this means commands can change the types if you want to not shift-right-click a lot of times). Right click the brush on a block to paint it. If an asphalt block is right clicked, and the pattern is supported by the block, it will convert to a painted asphalt block with the pattern you had selected, and the block will face the player. This also works for asphalt slabs if they support the paintbrush pattern selected as well.
If a paintbrush can't paint a block, a sound should play or visual should appear to tell you as such.
The Scrape Tool can scrape individual paint blocks and change painted asphalt into normal asphalt. Right click to perform the scraping action on a block.
